David V. Lee is Director of Strategic Research and Analysis at Georgia Student Finance Commission. Before joining GSFC, he was for six years the director of Operations of the State Data and Research Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Lee was two-term Governor Zell Miller’s education policy advisor, and was Director of Educational Development for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget in Georgia for seven years.

He served for seven years as Senior Policy Analyst for education and higher education issues in the Georgia Senate Research Office and has been appointed by three different Governors to chair or staff education study committees in Georgia. He was a Commissioner of the Education Commission of the States from 1995 – 2005, where he chaired the Investment Committee and served on the Executive, Steering and Policy and Priorities Committees.
