Angie Newell
Angelia Newell currently serves as Vice President of GSFC’s K-12 Student Services Division where she oversees operation of GAcollege411.org and outreach services for students in Georgia’s more than 1500 middle and high schools. Angie joined GSFC in 2011 with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations successfully meet their goals.
A Native of Dayton, Ohio, Angie began her career managing national accounts for the L.M. Berry Company where she generated an 11.2 percent increase in advertising revenue in the first year.
During her career she has held positions as Director of Sales and Marketing with Dayton Power and Light, Director of Marketing and Project Management at the Huffy Corporation, and Sales Manager at Dun & Bradstreet where she managed a capital portfolio with $8 million in revenue while providing business solutions to customers in risk management, finance, marketing, purchasing and technology.
After earning a Master of Public Administration degree in 2002, Angie put her strong interest in public service to work in the Georgia Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget as a Policy Analyst.
In 2004 she was appointed Director of the Fiscal Division and Deputy Comptroller of the Georgia Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, where she oversaw and managed the collection of over one billion dollars in state tax revenues and the distribution of more than $400 million dollars in local premium tax revenues to local governments.
Angie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wilberforce University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Kennesaw State University. She has been affiliated with a number of professional and civic organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the United Way of Atlanta, the National Association of Female Executives, the Hipple Cancer Research Center, and the Junior Service League.
Angie is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Youth and currently serves on the Board of Atlanta Public TV, the Wilberforce University Alumni Association and was formerly a member of Dayton School Board Task Force, The Congressional Advisory Council of Ohio and Jack & Jill of America.
