Gerlda B. Hines is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Georgia Student Finance Commission.  With over 20 years of financial management experience, Gerlda leads the Accounting Services and Loan Services Departments.  Gerlda is responsible for Accounting, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Procurement, Loan Administration, Data Integrity and System Management, Pre-Default Collections, Post Default Collections, and Default Aversion for Georgia Student Finance Commission, Georgia Student Finance Authority, and Georgia Higher Education Assistance Corporation.

Prior to joining the Commission in August 2005, Gerlda was the Budget Officer for Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, Policy Analyst for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget and prior to that served in various financial positions in both the private and public sector.

In addition, Gerlda is a Certified Public Accountant and currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Government Finance Officers Associations and Georgia Fiscal Management Council.

Gerlda earned a Bachelor of Administration in Accounting from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
