General Counsel
Marissa Key

Marissa Key serves as General Counsel for Georgia Student Finance Commission, where she directs the operation of Legal Affairs by providing advice, counsel and support to agency management and staff on a variety of legal matters. Prior to joining the GSFC, Marissa was a Program Manager at the Georgia Department of Education’s Charter School Division where she advised and assisted charter system applicants through the application and approval process.  During her tenure she was also instrumental in transforming the charter system application as well as streamlining and strengthening charter contracts.

Marissa began her legal career as an Associate City Attorney for the City of Atlanta’s Law Department. However, over the course of her career Marissa has worked in local and state government, the private sector and education. In keeping with her commitment to education, Marissa serves as a member of the Charter Advisory Committee (CAC); a committee created by the Georgia General Assembly to assist with the creation and approval of charter systems.

Marissa has a B.A. from Cornell University and J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
