Georgia Applies for John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program Funding
The United States Congress funded the John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program in the 2010 Federal Fiscal Year. The program provides loan repayment assistance for local, state, and federal public defenders, and local and state prosecutors who commit to continued employment as public defenders and prosecutors for at least 3 years. The purpose of the program is to encourage qualified individuals to enter and continue their employment as prosecutors and public defenders. The Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) has been designated by Governor Sonny Perdue as the state agency responsible for coordinating the John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program in Georgia. GSFC has received final approval on the John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program Regulations and Application. The application is available here. Please note that all applications are due by June 30, 2011.
