Events and Communications

Here you will find resources to help in sponsoring or assisting with college-going events and activities. Many volunteer organizations are connecting their outreach with other important school and community events such as football and basketball games and "Apply to College Week."
  • "COLLEGE is for EVERYONE" Flyer Volunteers are encouraged to share the "College is for Everyone" flyer with students. They are a great way to spread the word about GAcollege411 and to encourage students to start thinking about continuing their education following their high school graduation. Copies of the flyer can be ordered at no cost by emailing collegeaccessitems@usg.edu. Please specify the number of flyers needed and provide your mailing address in your email.
  • "COLLEGE is for EVERYONE" poster Volunteers are encouraged to display this poster at special events or in places with high visibility for students and families. The poster is a great way to keep reminding everyone of the college-going message. Copies of the poster can be ordered at no cost by emailing collegeaccessitems@usg.edu. Please specify the number of posters needed and provide your mailing address in your email.
  • "College Education Matters" Talking Points However you choose to volunteer, you may want some talking points which make the case that college is important. "College Education Matters" provides compelling information about why education is an investment that pays off for individuals, families, and communities.
  • "I’ve Been Accepted into College" Button Volunteers can use these buttons to reward students who have been accepted into college while at the same time encouraging other students to apply. Students love buttons! This button can be used as a follow-up to "Apply to College" events where students who apply receive "I Applied" buttons.
  • "I’m Going to College" Button Volunteers can use these buttons to reward students who have completed all the steps needed to start college: applying through GACollege411, receiving an acceptance, and getting the financial aid they need in order to enroll.
  • "DREAM, PLAN, STUDY, TEST, SIGN-UP, APPLY. YOU’RE ON YOUR WAY TO COLLEGE, GEORGIA! " Videos These lively videos featuring real Georgia students will help motivate their peers to go to college and review the major steps involved. They can be used as public service announcements and as visuals in volunteer presentations and events.

  • Articles and Press Releases Volunteers can use quotations, statistics, and other important facts to publicize college-going activities and events.
